David Cartwright

COMMUNITY BOARD

With strong passion and local connections, David Cartwright is seeking re-election to the Fendalton Ward in the Local Body elections in October 2022.

David is committed to this community, our city, and all those who live in it. Not only did David grow up in the local area, but he also now has a teenage son attending a local secondary school; owes, operates and employs people within the Ward giving him firsthand knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the issues facing fellow residents.

With a proven track record over the last 4 terms David has maintained a crucial eye on council spending, service delivery and infrastructure viability, while advocating for a straightforward, common sense approach to the governance of Christchurch with better, proactive and more open communication between all stakeholders.

David, with a strong background in hospitality and healthcare management, is also a Trustee for the New Zealand Flying Doctor Service; former board member for Keep New Zealand Beautiful and New Zealand Institute of Directors.

As a community board member I am thankful for the opportunities to address many issues at the grass roots level. These can range from tree replacements or removals, increased traffic density and speeding related problems, graffiti to local sports and youth group funding applications.

Christchurch, and the Fendalton Ward continue to need a strong community voice to ensure we make the most of every opportunity. If you have any questions please contact David anytime.
