James Gough is one of Christchurch’s most respected and experienced local leaders, having served 15 years as the City Councillor for the Fendalton Ward.

A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors, he brings strong commercial acumen, deep governance experience, and a proven record of delivering meaningful outcomes for the community.

His leadership has helped shape major citywide initiatives, from central city revitalisation and infrastructure investment to local projects that directly improve residents’ daily lives.

Now stepping into a full-time leadership role in the private sector, James remains firmly committed to the grassroots of his community and to staying connected with the people and place he has long served.
