The Independent Citizens group has announced its Canterbury District Health Board candidates for the 2010 local body elections.

All are health professionals or representatives with extensive links to professions servicing the health industry.

Rosanne Hawarden, a qualified nurse, midwife and IT professional, leads the team. Rosanne stood for Independent Citizens in 2007 and is proud of the calibre of candidates in her 2010 Health Board team.

Wendy Gilchrist is a qualified nurse who stood in 2007 for Independent Citizens. Wendy is a business owner and Member of the Human Rights Review Tribunal.

Joining her are first time candidates dentist Dr Alwyn Prinsloo, and Peter Young, a Chartered Accountant (retired), advisor to Partnership Health Canterbury, and Order of St John board member.

Also standing is Jonathan Darby, an admitted barrister and solicitor of the High Court and patient advocate. He will be focusing on the disabled, having been in a wheelchair since birth.  Says Rosanne Hawarden, “we’re confident Jonathan will be following in the footsteps of Graham Condon!”
