Local body elections Christchurch 2010, Independent Citizens

Cheryl Colley

Community Board Candidate for Fendalton/Waimairi

An elected member of the Fendalton/Waimairi Community Board since 1995.  Currently Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Works, Traffic and Environment Committee. It’s been a privilege for me to serve my community in this way.

My priorities are:
  • Listening to what you want and advocating on your behalf
  • Making school zones safe
  • High standards for the maintenance of roads, footpaths, parks and reserves
  • Improved traffic planning
  • Zero-tolerance of vandalism and graffiti
  • Maintaining the heritage aspects of the ward
  • Enhancing green areas
  • Supporting projects for youth, older people and new migrants

I’m active in the community as a Rotarian and Justice of the Peace. I work in a senior management role for the Department of Conservation.

I have MA (Hons) and Bachelor of Business Studies degrees, as well as a Diploma in Teaching. I apply my excellent leadership and people skills to the work of the Community Board.
